Traditional produce bags made from polyethylene are almost never recycled or reused. These produce bags are a much better choice because they’re fully compostable. Customers of natural food stores and farmer’s markets love these bags because they can be thrown right into the compost heap along with kitchen scraps, or even used to line the compost bin. That’s how strong they are. Yet because they’re natural, they allow the produce in them to breathe.

They come in the standard 11” wide size, with 800 bags to a roll. We carry BioBag brand, because they’re made in California using non-GMO corn instead of plastic. Don’t be fooled by some of the so called “green” produce bags that claim to be biodegradable. Those are really plain old plastic bags with unproven chemical additives that claim to break them down faster in a landfill. The truth is, nothing biodegrades in a landfill. Our bags are the only produce bags that are certified compostable by the Biodegradable Products Institute.
